HME is solely owned by Thomas E. Goin, 30-year industry sales veteran with a demonstrated track record of team leadership and “top sales” in Indiana. Mr. Goin leads Heartland Machine & Engineering after 6 years of management and ownership of a machine tool distributor in Indiana, which he grew from start-up to more than 20 employees in less than 5 years. He has grown Heartland from start-up to nearly 30 employees in 3 years and expanded the Company’s distribution regions from Indiana to Michigan, Ohio, and across North America. Mr. Goin has a proven history of success in both sales and leadership in the CNC machine tool industry and grinder business and is highly respected by the Midwest’s largest and fastest growing manufacturing industries. Mr. Goin oversees the daily operations of Heartland and is directly responsible for sales and the oversight of engineering and service operations.

Russ Stroud is the Engineeringl Manager of HME. He has over 25 years of experience in tier-one suppliers to the auto industry. He started in the manufacturing engineering departments of machining divisions and later was Plant Manager/Vice President of Operations at two of tier-one plants. He has since acquired over 10 years’ experience in machine tool distribution, leading both the engineering and operations of facilities. His prior experience in machining plants and as a tier-one supplier to the auto industry enables him to understand the needs of these operations and provide cost efficient and innovative solutions to HME customers.

Don Miller leads the Heartland grinder division throughout North America. He is a 35-year machine tool veteran with a background in engineering, project management and sales. Mr. Miller brings nearly 20 years experience in grinder-specific sales management and 10 years as a manufacturing engineer in grinding and finishing to Heartland. His extensive background in the automotive industry brings an expertise to a growing area of Heartland business in the U.S. and provides the necessary support in geographically expanding the grinder division through North America.

Elliott Parmer leads Heartland’s Graphic Design and Marketing, with the priority of sharing HME’s product lines with the industry, raising the visibility of the company’s products and services, and engaging with industry partners and customers through social media and digital communications.

Royce Funk is one of our service technicians and coordinates our service team. Being both in the field and on the floor, Mr. Funk has a large knowledge of the machine tool industry. He always does his best to provide the finest service solutions for our customers.
